What We Collect
Hosting Logs (Netlify)
Trekax is hosted on Netlify. Like all web hosting providers, Netlify automatically records standard server logs when pages are requested. These logs may include:
- IP address (used for request routing and abuse prevention)
- Browser type and version (user agent string)
- Page requested and referring URL
- Timestamp of the request
- HTTP response code

Google Search Console
Trekax uses Google Search Console to monitor how our pages appear in Google search results. Search Console provides aggregated, anonymised data about search queries and page performance — it does not provide individual visitor data and does not track users across the web. No personal data is accessible through Search Console.
What We Do Not Collect
- No cookies: Trekax does not set any cookies. No tracking cookies, no session cookies, no preference cookies.
- No personal data: We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifying information.
- No analytics tracking scripts: Trekax does not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or analytics scripts.
- No advertising networks: We do not participate in programmatic advertising. No ad networks load on Trekax pages.
- No user accounts: Trekax has no registration or login system. No account data is collected or stored.
Third-Party Links and Affiliate Partners
Trekax articles contain links to third-party websites, primarily:
- Amazon Associates: Trekax participates in the Amazon Associates programme. When you click an Amazon link and make a purchase, Amazon may set cookies on your device and collect data in accordance with their own privacy policy. Trekax does not receive or have access to any data Amazon collects about you.
- REI Affiliate Programme: Links to REI may be tracked by REI's affiliate system. REI's privacy policy applies to any data collected when you visit their site.
- Other gear retailers: Occasional links to other outdoor gear retailers may be affiliate links. Each retailer's own privacy policy governs data collection on their site.
When you follow a link from Trekax to a third-party site, you leave Trekax and that site's privacy policy applies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Trekax is a general-interest hiking and outdoor gear website. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 16. As we collect no personal data from any visitors, no additional safeguards for children are necessary beyond those already in place.
